Line: 7.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 8 K, 0 HR (5/12)

6.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 0 HR (5/17)

Notes: Sampson made two starts this week, and while both were good outings, his start on Tuesday was outstanding. That’s how you could describe his season so far, as he has a 2.61 ERA in 48.1 innings, with a 46:12 K/BB ratio. As Ryan Palencer wrote today, if Sampson keeps this up, he could be the top prospect called up to the majors by mid-season, especially with Nick Kingham currently injured.
