Casey Sadler, Indianapolis – 61 GS (5/9)

Line: 7.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 0 HR

Notes: With Nick Kingham going down, it’s even more important for Sadler to pitch well, since he’s currently the best option for short-term depth. Charlie Morton will return soon, and Clayton Richard was just promoted to Indianapolis, but if the Pirates needed someone this week, I’m not sure if either would be ready (possibly Morton, since he’s throwing a regular start with Indianapolis on Thursday). The good news is that Sadler is doing well, with a 2.76 ERA in 32.2 innings, along with an 18:7 K/BB ratio and a 1.42 GO/AO ratio.
