Corey Hart Shut Down on Rehab Assignment

Pirates outfielder/first baseman Corey Hart has been shut down on his rehab assignment in Triple-A because of his reoccurring knee issues. He was placed on the disabled list on June 24th and has since been rehabbing in Indianapolis.

Neal Huntington spoke on Hart on Sunday night before the Pirates game against the Cardinals.

“Corey has had some discomfort in his knee so we have shut his rehab down,” Huntington said. “He’s going to come back to Pittsburgh to be re-evaluated. We’ll see where he is after the All Star break and reconnect. We’ll have some additional information around Friday after the All Star break.”

“Unfortunately, he has some knees that have some wear and tear on them that will show themselves at times. He had some discomfort so we decided to bring him back to Pittsburgh.”

N.H. has done an incredible job, but I hated this signing the second I heard it.

  • Hart needs to have a hart to heart and tell himself that the musics over, turn out the lights.

  • Jesus what a series…Would love to see this in a 7 game NLCS, but chances are slim to say the least,

    • why do you say that?

Winner of wild card game plays division winner with best record which seems is going to be the winner of this division in best of 5

        • So we will likely be playing the Cardinals first, I get it. Even if we catch and pass them, probably still going to be the Cardinals

  • Ok, let me throw out this name. We could use a good right handed bat that can play first and in a pinch play 3rd. Can we get Matt Hague back for “cash considerations” or less?

See Tim, I am learning the jargon…

  • No Brainer! Cut him loose

I don’t know who all saw the replay of Jason Grilli’s season ending injury last night, but it was pretty horrific. I feel real bad for him….he was pitching pretty well for Atlanta. I will always include Grilli in the same category as Jim Gott – both gave their underdog teams a boost of confidence and swagger – Gott back in the late 80s and Grilli 2-3 years ago.

Why do the Pirates drag this out? The guy is done…DFA him and move on…

  • Corey Hart is done. It’s time to move on and make decision before the deadline.

  • Good by Corey…
