Bell, Glasnow named Triple-A All-Stars

Published:

Indianapolis pitcher Tyler Glasnow and first baseman Josh Bell have been selected to play in the Triple-A All-Star game on July 13. Glasnow is slated to be the starting pitcher.

Glasnow has 105 strikeouts this season, which leads the International League. His 1.70 earned run average ranks second and he recently had a 20-inning scoreless streak. While he’s struggled with control recently — he’s allowed 20 walks in his last 23.2 inning — he’s almost been unhittable, allowing just four hits in his last 19 innings of work.

Bell is in contention for a Triple Crown in the International League. He’s the active leader with a .316 batting average, while ranking second in RBIs [47] and his 11 home runs are five away from the league lead.

The game will be played in Charlotte and begin at 7 p.m. July 13.
