Minor Moves: Yeudy Garcia and Chase Simpson Placed on Disabled List

Published:

The Bradenton Marauders have placed right-handed pitcher Yeudy Garcia on the seven day disabled list with a right toe sprain, and infielder Chase Simpson has been placed on the seven day disabled list with a left ankle sprain. Garcia’s move is retroactive to August 14th.

In his last start on Saturday, Garcia threw five shutout innings, striking out seven batters. He has a 2.88 ERA this season in 112.1 innings and he leads the Florida State League with 118 strikeouts. It sounds like the injury in minor, so he could possibly just miss the one start.

Chase Simpson is hitting .236/.329/.401 in 78 games, with 16 doubles, five triples and seven homers. He has split his time between first base, third base and DH. Of note on his injury, the last thing he did was pitch on Friday night, then didn’t play over the weekend, or yesterday. He is currently down at Pirate City getting treatment.

Nick Kingham and Justin Topa were added to the active roster.
