Brady Dragmire Claimed By the Rangers, Obviously

Published:

This is not a joke. Brady Dragmire has been claimed by the Texas Rangers. In a waiver wire tennis match that would rival Andre Agassi vs Pete Sampras in their prime, the Pirates have been going back and forth claiming Dragmire.

First, the Pirates purchased Dragmire from the Toronto Blue Jays on October 5th. Then, the Pirates designated him for assignment, and he was claimed by the Rangers on December 2nd. The Rangers designated him for assignment on the 13th, and the Pirates claimed him the next day. He was DFAd by the Pirates after they signed Daniel Hudson, and the ball is back in the Rangers’ court.

I’ve created a policy for the Prospect Guide. Right before publishing, I’m going to check and see if Dragmire is in the organization. By that point, he probably would have been in the organization at least two more times, and we’re only talking about less than a month from now. If he’s in the system at the time, he gets added to the book (where he would end up just outside of the top 50). If he’s not in the system, I might just add him to the appendix and play it safe.

Either way, see you in a few weeks, Brady!
