I was on ESPN radio twice the last two days, discussing a variety of Spring Training topics, including Tyler Glasnow’s new changeup. I was on with Stan Savran on Tuesday, and we mostly discussed Glasnow’s changeup and the future of the outfield with Austin Meadows and Andrew McCutchen.

I was also on with David Todd on Wednesday for my regular weekly appearance. We discussed Glasnow a bit, but also touched on other areas of the team, including the potential makeup of the bullpen and when Nick Kingham might make an appearance in the majors this year.

  1. I liked David Todd’s take on Hanrahan becoming a coach and sharing his brief conversation years ago with Joel about advanced stats and Joel saying he just goes out and throws it hard. Truly earned the “Hammer” nickname.

    • All Star caliber guy in his time with the Pirates sandwiched between his horrendous experiences in Washington and Boston.

He gave the Pirates 82 Saves and then was traded to Boston for Melancon. Hanrahan bottoms out in Boston and Melancon gives the Pirates 130 Saves in a little over 3 years. Melancon was then traded to Washington in return for Felipe Rivero and Taylor Hearn . . . . . . . . keep this up guys because this timeline is paved with gold!
