On Thursday night in World Baseball Classic action, Gregory Polanco and Starling Marte were in the lineup at the same time for the first time, as the Dominican Republic defeated Venezuela by a 3-0 score. Polanco' solo homer in the fifth inning was the first run of the game. He would later add a single. He is 8-for-15 in four games.
Marte started in center field and went 0-for-4 last night. This was just his second game of the tournament. Marte injured his ankle during last Wednesday's exhibition game against the Pirates.
