Jon Morosi from MLB Network tweeted on Wednesday afternoon that the San Francisco Giants have been in contact with the Pittsburgh Pirates regarding center fielder Andrew McCutchen. It appears that the Giants would like to acquire a top outfielder this off-season, with Giancarlo Stanton being their top target. Morosi doesn't say how many other options they have besides Stanton, but it is noteworthy that the Giants remain in contact with the Pirates now, just in case a Stanton deal can't be worked out. McCutchen has one year remaining on his contract before he reaches free agency.
