PITTSBURGH — The clubs are lined up for Opening Day at PNC Park.
Lance Lynn will go for the Twins while Jameson Taillon starts for the Pirates. It’s the first start of the season for each pitcher.
Before the game, the Pirates placed right-handed pitcher Joe Musgrove on the 10-day disabled list and recalled right-handed relief pitcher Clay Holmes from Triple-A Indianapolis.

The Pirates will now need a spot start on Thursday, meaning that one of Steven Brault or Tyler Glasnow could be unavailable out of the bullpen in order to line them up for that start.
Sean Rodriguez has taken over Andrew McCutchen’s corner locker stall in the Pirates clubhouse, and though the veteran isn’t in the starting lineup, he’s going to be expected to provide a lot for the Pirates in 2018 after his 2017 season was nearly ruined before it started.
