Calvin Mitchell and Deon Stafford Named South Atlantic League All-Stars

The South Atlantic League named the representatives for their mid-season classic on Tuesday afternoon. The West Virginia Power will send outfielder Calvin Mitchell and catcher Deon Stafford to the game, which will be held on June 19th in Greensboro, NC.

Mitchell has been one of the best hitters in the entire league this season. Going into Tuesday night’s doubleheader, he was hitting .319/.377/.534 in 50 games, with 24 extra-base hits. He ranks sixth in the league in OPS, seventh in slugging and ninth in OBP.

Stafford is hitting .264/.325/.432 in 39 games this year. The 22-year-old backstop was drafted in the fifth round last year and also made the NYPL All-Star team in his debut season.
