Michael Feliz Placed on Disabled List; Clay Holmes Recalled from Indianapolis

Published:

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed right-handed pitcher Michael Feliz on the 10-day disabled list on Sunday afternoon. They have recalled right-handed pitcher Clay Holmes, who was scheduled to start today in Indianapolis.

Feliz is going on the DL with should inflammation. He has a 4.66 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP in seven appearances this month.

Holmes has been outstanding in his last four starts, allowing two runs over 25.1 innings, with 28 strikeouts. He gives the Pirates a long-relief option today. Holmes spent two weeks with the Pirates at the beginning of the season, though he pitched just two innings in his only appearance.
