Live Discussion: Pirates at Brewers, 8:10 PM

The Pittsburgh Pirates (72-73) are on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers (84-63) this weekend for three games. Friday night’s contest will have Chris Archer on the mound going up against lefty Gio Gonzalez.

Archer will be making his eighth start with the Pirates. He has a 5.24 ERA in 34.1 innings, with 35 strikeouts and a 1.46 WHIP. He faced the Brewers on August 26th and he gave up six runs over four innings. In two starts since then, Archer has allowed four runs over 12 innings.

Gonzalez has a 4.40 ERA in 151.1 innings this season, with 133 strikeouts and a 1.50 WHIP. He faced the Pirates back on July 11th when he was with the Washington Nationals and allowed two runs over six innings. This is just his second start with the Brewers. He allowed one unearned run over 5.2 innings against the San Francisco Giants six days ago.
