Live Discussion: Pirates at Reds, 6:40 PM

The Pittsburgh Pirates (80-78) take on the Cincinnati Reds (66-93) at Great American Ballpark for the final three games of the season this weekend. In game one, Nick Kingham will take on right-hander Anthony DeSclafani, who has a 4.91 ERA in 110 innings, with 102 strikeouts and a 1.31 WHIP. He has faced the Pirates twice this season, allowing a total of five runs over ten innings. Jung Ho Kang is back with the Pirates, although he isn’t in the starting lineup tonight.

John started working at Pirates Prospects in 2009, but his connection to the Pittsburgh Pirates started exactly 100 years earlier when Dots Miller debuted for the 1909 World Series champions. John was born in Kearny, NJ, two blocks from the house where Dots Miller grew up. From that hometown hero connection came a love of Pirates history, as well as the sport of baseball.
