Elias Diaz Activated from Injured List; Jacob Stalling Placed on Injured List

Published:

The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated catcher Elias Diaz from the 10-day injured list for Sunday afternoon’s game. To make room on the 25-man roster, catcher Jacob Stallings has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a cervical neck strain. The move was made retroactive to April 18th, so he will be eligible to return next Sunday.

Diaz played two rehab games at Bradenton and seven more for Indianapolis. He hit .412/.459/.559 in 34 at-bats. He was out for most of Spring Training due to an illness.

Stallings has played just four games this season, going 3-for-11 at the plate.
