Aaron Shortridge Named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week

The Florida State League named Aaron Shortridge as their Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon. Shortridge gave the Bradenton Marauders seven shutout innings last Monday, allowing three hits (all singles) with one walk and a season high eight strikeouts.

On the season, Shortridge has a 3.38 ERA in 74.2 innings over 13 starts, with a 61:12 SO/BB ratio, a .246 BAA and a 1.07 WHIP. The 22-year-old, who was drafted in the fourth round last year, ranks tenth in the league in WHIP. He also ranks 12th in strikeouts, though he’s just four behind the player with the fifth most strikeouts in the league.
