The Pittsburgh Pirates (65-91) take on the Chicago Cubs (82-74) for three games at PNC Park, with game two taking place tonight at 7:05 PM. The Pirates will send out Dario Agrazal for his final start of the season. He has a 5.08 ERA in 67.1 innings, with 36 strikeouts and a 1.40 WHIP. Agrazal has a 7.47 ERA in his last eight starts. He has not faced the Cubs in his career.
The Cubs will counter with veteran lefty Jon Lester, who has a 4.51 ERA in 165.2 innings, with 161 strikeouts and a 1.50 WHIP. He has faced the Pirates four times already this season. He threw six shutout innings one time and two shutout frames another, leaving that start early due to a minor injury. Some news from today:
The last weekly update from Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk: Josh Bell (strained left groin), Starling Marte (sprained left wrist), Elias Diaz (sprained right knee) and Cole Tucker (left knee strain) won’t play the rest of the way.
