Daily Video Rundown: Rodolfo Nolasco, Matt Gorski, Oneil Cruz

Welcome to the Pirates Prospects daily video rundown, where we pull some of the top videos of the Pittsburgh Pirates across the internet.

Daily Video Rundown

Rodolfo Nolasco

The 20-year-old isn’t having the easiest time adjusting to Low-A, but has had his moments. Nolasco has slashed .208/.288/.304 with nine extra-base hits and four stolen bases. He’s striking out 31.6% of the time, but has also drawn walks in 10% of his plate appearances.

In Bradenton’s loss on Tuesday, he did collect two hits, and drove in three runs. He now has 13 RBIs on the year.

Matt Gorski

It didn’t take long for Matt Gorski to make his presence known at the Double-A level, hitting a home run in his first game for Altoona.

In total, Gorski went 2-for-5 with the home run, 3 RBI, and also stole his 10th base of the season.

Oneil Cruz

Cruz has yet to crack the Mendoza line but he has started to do this more often.

In the month of May, Cruz has hit .221 with a .810 OPS, with Tuesday’s home run being his fifth home run of the season.  He’s also been able to draw as many walks as strike outs (13).

Mason Martin

Martin remains one of the hottest players in the system, and trails only Gorski in the system in home runs. This home run was his ninth of the season, and 25th extra-base hit.

He hasn’t hit well (.197 in May) but has made it count. Of his 13 hits this month, nine have gone for extra-bases.

Ji-Hwan Bae

The second baseman is continues to hit for power, and owns a slash of .313/.432/.531 in the month of May. He continues to flash that power the opposite way, including this double to left center.

Tucupita Marcano

Another player riding high in May, Marcano flashes his aggressive base running here stretching a single into a double and driving in Blake Sabol.

We need some Statcast stats on Gorski & Cruz bombs! Both of them passed the sound test, as in they both sounded like gun shots off the bat. Certainly much louder than Martin’s blast.

These are awesome, thx again👏👏👏

Colin

Gorski absolutely destroyed that ball. Seems Cruz is getting more consistent but his attitude bothers me. Screw your head on straight and mash some baseballs, you’ll be in the 412 soon enough
