Indianapolis announced a group of roster moves prior to Wednesday’s afternoon game, including Nick Mears moving his rehab up to Indianapolis, which was announced yesterday. Indianapolis has also received Heath Hembree on a rehab assignment (calf injury), and Miguel Yajure has returned from the injured list (back/hip soreness). It appears that Trey McGough is possibly done for the season after being placed on the 60-day injured list. There is time for him to return, but at minimum he’s going to miss a large portion of the remaining schedule.
Yajure last pitched on May 14th when he didn’t make it out of the first inning of a start for Indianapolis. It was his second game with the team after spending the first month of the season with the Pirates.
Hembree has an 8.10 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP in 13.1 innings over 18 appearances with the Pirates this year.
McGough had a 3.06 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP in 17.2 innings with Indianapolis this year.
In other news, Owen Sharts has been assigned to the FCL Pirates. He was last year’s 13th round draft pick, but he was rehabbing an injury at the time, so he will be making his pro debut when he first takes the mound.
If any other moves come up, we will add them here.
UPDATE: Colin Selby has also been placed on the 60-day injured list. He was doing well this year, posting a 1.26 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP, with 17 strikeouts in 14.1 innings.
