Pirates Discussion: A Question For the Community on a Day Off For the Pirates

Published:

Throughout this site’s history, two things have been true of the comment section:

  1. We don’t see a lot of our readers commenting. I can’t remember a time when it was more than 5% of the readers. The average lately has been around 3.5%, though that has started to trend up, and I like seeing more people in the discussions. Honestly, I think we’ve always produced so much content that there has been little time to comment.
  2. The people who do comment are highly informed. Sometimes those discussions take the articles above them to a deeper level of analysis.

While the comment section doesn’t make up a lot of our readers, it’s always been something we’ve valued due to that last part. We overhauled the commenting system last month, and will be overhauling the daily features that lead to most of the comments.

Starting today, the game discussions will now go under the Daily Pirates Discussion. This will go up each night with P2Daily, the Daily Video Rundown, and the Prospect Watch. The latter will also be seeing a change in publishing time, aimed at giving you a preview each day and a discussion space for the minors.

The Daily Pirates Discussion will also run during off days, giving a place to discuss the MLB team even when there is no game. More importantly, having it run all day will allow for plenty of pre-game discussion throughout the day.

As today is an off-day for the Pirates, I’ll pose a question to the community: What do you want to see more of on Pirates Prospects?
