Pirates Game Discussion: Pirates vs Diamondbacks, 7:05 PM

The Pittsburgh Pirates (22-27) take on the Arizona Diamondbacks (25-27) in a three-game set at PNC Park, starting Friday night at 7:05 PM. The Pirates are sending out JT Brubaker (0-4, 4.15) for his 11th start of the season. He had a 2.63 ERA in May, after a 6.20 mark in April. The Diamondbacks are countering with 33-year-old right-hander Merrill Kelly (3-3, 3.67), who will be making his 11th start of the season. He had a 1.27 ERA in April and a 6.31 mark in May.

David Bednar was named National League Reliever of the Month for May. He had a 1.65 ERA, an 0.73 WHIP and 21 strikeouts in 16.1 innings over 12 appearances.

Vogelbach is back. VanMeter is out of service
