Pirates Activate Dillon Peters from Injured List; Option Eric Stout

Prior to Tuesday’s game against the Miami Marlins, the Pittsburgh Pirates activated lefty pitcher Dillon Peters from the 15-day injured list. To make room on the 26-man roster, reliever Eric Stout was optioned to Indianapolis.

Peters last pitched for the Pirates on June 1st before suffering a lower back strain. He had a 3.86 ERA at the time, with a 1.17 WHIP and a 21:16 SO/BB ratio in 25.2 innings. He made four rehab appearances, pitching three scoreless innings with Altoona and 3.1 scoreless with Indianapolis.

Stout pitched twice since joining the Pirates, allowing an unearned run in 1.2 innings.
