Prospect Watch: Sunday Doubleheader for Bradenton; Altoona and Greensboro Get Rained Out

Greensboro and Bradenton will be playing doubleheaders today after weather postponed their games yesterday. Altoona has an evening start time. The three short-season teams are all off today. The regular season for the FCL/DSL Pirates ends on Tuesday, but the DSL Pirates Gold will be in the playoffs. UPDATE: Due to the field conditions, Greensboro postponed both games. Game Recap:

Indianapolis won 8-2 on Sunday. Starter Johan Oviedo was strong, with 2.2 innings of shutout ball on one hit, no walks and five strikeouts. Cody Bolton followed and gave up two runs in two innings on three hits, two walks and three strikeouts. Three relievers threw scoreless ball the rest of the way, with 1.1 inning from Cam Alldred, two frames from Travis MacGregor and one from Zach Matson. Indianapolis got a homer from Hoy Park to lead-off the bottom of the first, his seventh homer. Another run scored that inning on a wild pitch. In the fourth, Travis Swaggerty stole a base (his 14th) and scored on a wild pitch. Jamie Ritchie then doubled in a run. Brendt Citta had an RBI single in the fifth, which was followed by a two-run homer from Carter Bins, his eighth of the season. Citta capped the scoring with a sac fly. Bins had two walks in the game. Drew Maggi had a single, walk, stolen base (16th) and two runs scored.

GAME ONE: Bradenton lost game one of a doubleheader by a 7-4 score in seven innings. Starter Po-Yu Chen allowed two runs in 3.2 innings while throwing 76 pitches. Reliever Yunior Thibo finished off the game and gave up five runs in 2.1 innings. Tsung-Che Cheng continued his recent hot streak by collecting his seventh triple and drawing a walk. He scored the first run on a passed ball. Norkis Marcos singled home the second run. Wyatt Hendrie doubled in the final two runs. All nine Marauders had at least one strikeout in the shortened game, 12 total strikeouts.

Game Recap:

Joelvis Del Rosario started game two of the doubleheader and went five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks, with six strikeouts. He now has a 3.69 ERA in 78 innings. Wilkin Ramos followed with a scoreless sixth and Carlos Lomeli got the save with shutout ball in the seventh, as the Marauders won 3-2. Juan Jerez was the offense in this game, with his sixth homer, as well as a single, walk, two steals (14th & 15th), and two runs scored. Brenden Dixon added a solo homer, his eighth. Tres Gonzalez had two singles and stole his first base.
