Welcome to the Pirates Prospects daily video rundown, where we pull some of the top videos of the Pittsburgh Pirates across the internet.
Travis Swaggerty With The Bat
I wrote about the former first round pick and his push to try and make the roster out of Spring Training. It’s been a fairly good start for the outfielder, coming up with moments on both offense and defense.

Late in Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Tigers, Swaggerty delivered with a clutch three-run home run that tied the game.
Travis Swaggerty With The Glove
While he’s come up with some hits here and there, Swaggerty has really shown why he’s one of the better defensive outfielders in the system, and could fit in perfectly with Bryan Reynolds switching to left field.
After making a couple of long ranging catches earlier in the week, he makes a fantastic throw from the outfield to get a runner at home and end the inning.

There may not be a player in baseball who can make an opposite field home run look as effortless as Oneil Cruz can.
Quinn Priester Up Close
This is from earlier in the Spring, but a good look at Quinn Priester up close throwing a bullpen session. Really get an opportunity to see some of the break on his pitches.

Tucupita Marcano Strikeout
We’ve already seen, and felt the impact of the new pitch clock around the league as baseball looks to speed things up a bit. This may be one of the fastest strikeouts in baseball history.

Anthony began writing over 10 years ago, starting a personal blog to cover the 2011 MLB draft, where the Pirates selected first overall. After bouncing around many websites covering hockey, he refocused his attention to baseball, his first love when it comes to sports. He eventually found himself here at Pirates Prospects in late 2021, where he covers the team’s four full season minor league affiliates.
Pirates don’t really have a lot of outfield options, so why not Swaggerty, a true center fielder,He’s better in center than suwinski. But like all the pirates young outfielders the bat will keep in the show.
The Swaggerty throw gets my attention. Just the right height and arc. So tired of watching MLB OFers throw rainbows to home allowing runners to advance, not to mention often 20′ off target up 1st or 3rd side of Home Plate.
On the other hand, first baseman was not in cut position?? Wonder if that was Choi sleeping or what?
No, think it was Santana. Choi was DH.
Really nice episode of DVR.
looooved the Priester shots with the super slow to normal speed.
Tucupita… oh, man!
Lots of good clips today
Thanks for all youdo.
Man we could really use an organizational development win with someone like Swaggerty. Sometimes they don’t put it together until the majors, like Neil Walker. I think we’re due for a guy like that.
Klaw has his draft ratings out on The Athletic. Langford and Crews are 1-2.
Langford’s gaining traction, he had Dollander down to #5
