WTM’S PIRATE PLAYER PROFILES

Anderson has put up some strong numbers at the plate while playing for Bryant University.  He shows a good tendency to get on base, displays the ability to steal bases, and in 2014, he added some power to his game.  Bryant’s speed was on display with 31 stolen bases in 34 attempts this year, and 56 in 64 attempts during his three-year career.  He has a career .384 on-base percentage.  Anderson could be a sleeper if the power he displayed in his junior year is legit.  Despite being a junior, Anderson signed quickly.

2014
A-:  244/299/310, 242 AB, 8 2B, 4 3B, 14 BB, 33 K, 14-18 SB

Anderson opened the season as the center fielder and leadoff hitter for Jamestown.  He got off to a fast start, batting .338 in June, but stopped hitting after that.  His OPS fell to .584 in July and .435 in August.  After Elvis Escobar was reassigned to Jamestown, Anderson played more in left and moved down in the order.

2015
INJURED

Anderson was slated to go to West Virginia in 2015 as a backup, but had hernia surgery in the spring and missed the entire season.

2016
R:  083/185/083, 24 AB, 3 BB, 5 K, 2-3 SB

Anderson finally went on a rehab assignment in late May in the GCL.  He played in nine games and in mid-July was back on the disabled list.

Things obviously are not going well for Anderson.  He’ll be 25 when the 2017 season starts and hasn’t yet played in full season ball.
