Urbina has a fastball that reaches 90-91 and a promising change. So far, he’s missed very few bats.
2011 Urbina struggled in limited action after signing. 2012 Urbina showed some improvement while pitching mainly as a starter, but his walk and K rates still weren’t good. 2013 Shoulder problems limited Urbina to five starts. He got outstanding results when he was able to pitch, apart from an extremely low K rate. 2014 Urbina pitched mostly out of the Bristol bullpen and struggled. Walks and gopher balls (one every five innings) were problems, and opponents also batted .314 against him. 2015 Urbina returned to Bristol, still pitching in relief, and didn’t make much progress. His walk and strikeout numbers were better, but opponents hit 358/414/569 against him, and he got worse as the season went along. The last two seasons have been disasters for Urbina. It’s possible he won’t return. |
