| Brandow was just the second high school pick by the Pirates since the second round. He was an outfielder this year, but caught as a junior in high school and also played some third base. Brandow has great size and a quick power bat from the right side, frequently hitting 400+ foot shots as a junior. He gets a lot praise for his work ethic, athleticism and mental toughness. He has a commitment to Cal St Fullerton and while he wasn’t a Baseball America top 500 player, he should still require more than slot ($125,000) to sign. If he does sign, he will play in the GCL in 2018. |
