| Diaz signed a couple months into the 2019-20 international signing period. He has the potential to hit and possibly to stay at short, as he has a strong arm.
2020 2021 The pandemic eliminated the 2020 season and Diaz got only limited playing time in the DSL in 2021. He didn’t play short at all, instead splitting his time between second and third. He did little at the plate beyond drawing walks. 2022 Back in the DSL, Diaz this time played mostly at short. He had error problems, with an .888 fielding percentage. He made some progress at the plate, drawing a huge number of walks and hitting with good gap power. Diaz should be in the FCL in 2023. He’ll play the season at age 20. |
