WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Disla was the last player whom the Pirates signed in the 2018-19 signing period. MiLB.com lists him as signing on July 3, 2019, but that was actually after the 2019-20 period started, so he must have agreed to terms a little earlier.
2019 Disla got into a dozen games in relief. He pitched very well, with excellent walk and K rates. Opponents batted only 217/253/250 against him. 2020 2021 Disla continued pitching in relief in the FCL and his season was pretty much the opposite of 2019. Opponents had an OPS of 1.122 against him. A lot of the damage came in the first half of the season; he had an ERA of 3.86 starting in August, although the control problems continued. 2022 The Pirates tried Disla in the FCL again. He was much more effective over 11 appearances, although he didn’t miss many bats. He made two appearances with Bradenton at different times. He faced nine batters there, retiring five and walking the other four. Disla could get another shot at Bradenton at some point in 2023. |
