WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Garland spent one year as a reserve at Central Connecticut, then three as a starter. He didn’t hit a great deal there, with a career line of 250/338/339. His best year was his senior year, when he hit 258/368/374. He also threw out 44% of base stealers that year. After going undrafted out of college, he signed with the Normal Cornbelters of the Frontier League and got into one game with them, but the team folded. He then signed with the Washington Wild Things, but the Pirates signed him for 2019.
2018 Garland will likely provide lower-level catching depth for the Pirates. |
