WTM’S PIRATE PLAYER PROFILES |
Tyler is the son of former Pirates catcher Keith Osik, who is the coach now at Farmingdale State. The Pirates took pitcher Matt Seelinger from that school in the 28th round. The younger Osik plays third base and hit .329/.429/.473 in 49 games last season for Chipola. He then had Tommy John surgery and missed all of this year, just recently returning to play summer league baseball. He planned to transfer to Stony Brook after redshirting this year. It’s unlikely he signs but the Pirates will follow him during summer ball and see how he returns from his injury. |
