WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE

The Pirates signed Babilonia at about the time they signed Samuel Inoa and Gabriel Brito, both of whom were much more prominent signings.  Babilonia neverthless got a good number of starts for two years in the DSL as the other catchers were frequently hurt.

2016
DSL:  233/378/274, 73 AB, 1 2B, 1 3B, 9 BB, 15 K

Babilonia shared the catching duties with Samuel Inoa and Gabriel Brito.  He didn’t show much at the plate beyond a willingness to draw a walk.

2017
DSL: 259/358/293, 58 AB, 2 2B, 5 BB, 16 K

Babilonia went back to the DSL and played a little less.  He threw out only five of 35 base stealers.

The Pirates assigned Babilonia to the GCL to start 2018.  With Inoa and Ryan Haug there, he may not find much playing time.
